🚨 OHUBNext | Different Minds, Underpriced Talent
📍July is Disability Pride Month. We're honoring the disabled founders, leaders, and creators making their mark across the innovation economy — and recommitting to a community where every kind of mind belongs.

Every market has an inefficiency it refuses to open it's eyes wide enough to see. In venture and entrepreneurship, one of the most durable is the systematic underpricing of disabled and neurodivergent founders.
The numbers don't support the bias. In one UK study, 40% of self-made millionaires were dyslexic — a condition found in roughly one in ten people, yet present in nearly half of those at the top.
Neurodivergence, far from a liability, tracks with the exact traits the innovation economy pays a premium for: pattern recognition, unconventional problem-solving, and a tolerance for building what doesn't yet exist.
Speaking of disabled millionaires, let's talk about Daymond John.
He started FUBU sewing hats at his mother's kitchen table in Queens and eventually mortgaged that home for $100,000 to fund it. The company became a global brand. He is also, by his own account, dyslexic.
"Dyslexia is not a weakness," he has said. "It's simply a different way of learning." The way his mind works was not an obstacle he overcame on the way to building an empire — it was part of how he built it.
And yet capital hasn't caught up to the evidence. Disabled founders remain dramatically underfunded relative to their peers, even as the global disability economy commands more than $13 trillion in spending power. That is the definition of a mispriced market: strong fundamentals, weak allocation.
Closing that gap is not charity. It is the economic-mobility thesis OHUB was built on — that overlooked talent, given access to capital and community, compounds. This Disability Pride Month, we're naming the inefficiency plainly, and celebrating the builders already proving the market wrong.
