Biography

Arifur is a marine conservationist, environmental activist, climate action ambassador, and development practitioner in Bangladesh deeply passionate about climate action (SDG-13) and life below water (SDG-14). Currently, he serves as a Research Associate with WorldFish Bangladesh in the USAID-funded ECOFISH II project. He has more than five years of work experience with climate-vulnerable and climate-migrant fishing communities. Besides his professional commitments, Arifur is the founder of "ArtiFishGuard" which aims to work on artisanal fisheries conservation and development. Arifur also leads "The Period Club" Cox's Bazar Unit under Man for Menstruation (M4M) program showing his dedication to supporting women’s health and well-being. He is part of the esteemed cohort of the US Department of State-supported Climate Action Champions Network (CACN) 2022 representing South Asia. He aspires to become a prominent researcher in the field of sustainable natural resources management and climate tech entrepreneur.
