Kalen Gray, a NOCHI alum and seasoned culinary professional, now serves as a Culinary Instructor at his alma mater, mentoring aspiring chefs in kitchen management, food safety, and modern cooking technique. His career spans roles from line cook to executive chef, with leadership positions at renowned establishments such as Saint John, Doris Metropolitan, and Pascal’s Manale. In these roles, he has overseen kitchen operations, mentored culinary teams, and played a key role in menu innovation and ingredient sourcing. With a commitment to continuous learning and innovation, Kalen brings real-world industry knowledge into the classroom, preparing the next generation of chefs for success in the fast-paced culinary world.
Biography
I am a native of Louisiana. I was born and raised in North Louisiana and moved to New Orleans in 1987. I was instantly hooked. I was able to learn, grow and evolve with a community of friends which I am still close with today. I want to help create opportunities for future generations, so they can have the opportunity to develop their concepts and ideas while being supported by the culture and community that is New Orleans

I am a native of New Orleans' historic Ninth Ward community. I am ABD and have completed all coursework for my doctorate degree in Education Technology. Over the last 5 years I have served at STEM NOLA, where currently my role is Chief Administrative Officer. I love engaging youth and young adults in STEM!

Innovo recognizes that solving our climate crisis requires technological adoption. Scaling and grown of renewable energy markets won't happen on legacy systems and that is where Innovo comes in.
